REALITY CHECK #23......8/2/2012
"The gift of spittin go back to the very beginning of man so is not
being given its due? Today rappers spit about unreality issues that's
not pertain to their gift that God bless then wit. I feel rappin is not a
God given talent especially when you don't use it properly. I see
rappers talk about cars, money, women and sex which is the same ole
played-out routine. Rappers of the pas
t
gave us many messages that prepared us towards our future. Today rappers
aren't even lyrically or spiritually gifted because they are all about
the money and fame. If you wanna make a difference in Hip Hop then rap
about the social issues, political issues, and sometimes give a
biblical testimony because we all need some deliverance to help ease the
souls of the world."
REALITY CHECK #22......7/29/2012
" Lately there's been talk about how industry executives have an
attitude and disrespectful to artists. Nowadays executives take
tremendous pressure from companies about how they are to deal with
artists which can be very difficult and stressful. Now if you were a CEO
of a company and you see your employees doin what they want and it
becomes a huge problem so its time to be no more m
ister
nice guy in a sense. I have encountered artists who threaten or bully
executives which will cost them their careers in the long run regardless
of you apologize to them or not. The executives have the right to
refuse anybody under conduct or the state of the project too. I have
been around legendary executives who don't give a damn about who artists
are and aren't gonna start being nice because they know artists'
personality throughout the years. Many artists do develop tremendous
egos and arrogance which is unnecessary to a degree. So don't take it
personal if an executive has an attitude because they have to be tough
in their position. So just stay humble and gracious about an opportunity
before you say anything because the job of being an entertainment
executive is very hard and very demanding than what you can ever
imagine."
REALITY CHECK #21......7/28/2012
"Are you really ready for the music business? Is it displaying your God
given talent and showing off your craft or the thought of the fame and
the having all the lavish things? Now as you sit there to think of this
answer, try to think where will this decision take you on a long run or a
short run in your career. There's many artists of the past and the
present who've settled for the contribution
they made to the industry and they only happy that their loyal fans
still love them. I feel today I get many, many artists who contact me
with the craziest things to say and I think to myself.....are you
really ready for the countless days and nights for this career and are
they ready for the tremendous hard work and sometimes with little or no
pay? So are you really ready for this music business. For the record if
you think you can stand alone in the game then you will learn an
invaluable lesson about the music industry. As I learned about
Hollywood, it'll eat you up and spit you to the curb of Hollywood
Boulevard if you not fully prepared for the constant rejection or the
industry's political bullshit that comes with the music business so are
you really ready for this?? Now as I see the millions of artists here in
the United States who want to be entertainers and I think to
myself......Are you really ready to sacrifice your duties in your
everyday life such as being a parent for this entertainment business and
if so, then God bless you and good luck to you cause YOU'RE GONNA NEED
IT SERIOUSLY!!!! Now ask yourself are you really ready for this.......REAL TALK!!!
REALITY CHECK #20......7/25/2012
"We see these gifts of the divine spirits manifested in the ministry of
the rapper, the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, street
philosophy, discerning of spirits; rapper and writers kinds of tongues. A
rapper speaks by direct divine inspiration, an immediate revelation,
not something he/she thought of, nor creation by man but something given
at the spur of the moment by sudden inspiration from above."
REALITY CHECK #19......7/21/2012
"For the record artists who cannot take constructive criticism or
professional advice to help themselves don't deserve to be in the
entertainment industry. Why threaten executives who have worked their
way into Los Angeles or New York with paying dues and hard work which
can be very frustrating but rewarding in the end. My advice to all
artists who believe their negative attitude will get them in the
business......BE CAREFUL how you treat people who are connected cause in
the future it'll come back to ruin you financially and professionally
permanently(real talk!!)."

The REALITY CHECK segment has been suspended indefinately until I
recover from my heart condition in exile. I wanna thank all the gracious
people that I met in Los Angeles in the past few years. I promise
myself that I SHALL RETURN to the best
coast bar none that showed me more love in the industry and the streets
that I am proud to claim Los Angeles as my home away from home. Thankx
for allowing me to be apart of the West Coast community.......WEST WEST
YA'LL!!!!
REALITY CHECK #16......7/15/2012
The state of women in music today is at a low point and very
disgraceful in my eyes. I hear all this talk about the many talented
females in the game but its shadowed by negativity females portray in
the internet society. I have had females turn on me and sabotage my job
because in the past I've been a rude and unprofessional which I wasn't
tryin to be. I feel females need direction
,
image consulting, business knowledge, music management and true love
not sexual innuendo to even make it in the game. I remember when rap
queens had respect for themselves and made statements unlike today. I
see many female rappers are spreading their legs unnecessary whether its
in performances or behind the scenes when they need to learn to respect
themselves as ladies in any such manner. There are female artists who
are mothers who have no shame in their game to be exploited as a piece
of meat to the vultures within in the industry. Ladies, wake up take a
stand and bring back the decency, self-respect, self-determination and
self-esteem to your image and stop the unnecessary madness. This is
still a male dominating business and its unbalanced on all levels so
take a look in the mirror and see who you really are as a woman in the
music business.
REALITY CHECK #15......7/12/2012
BEWARE OF THE MEDIA!!!....Folks will sell their soul to the media for
the exposure and don't even realize it.......The media is the ultimate
downfall of the black culture so WAKE UP!!!......The true definition of
the word M.E.D.I.A. means Multi Ethnic Destruction In AmeriKKKa or
Maniac European Devils In Action so why press yourself for exposure when
the media is out to destroy us all and now ask yourself is it worth for
the price of fame??!!
REALITY CHECK #14......7/11/2012
For the record since I am out on medical there's been talks about 2Pac
like you really know him. My family and I are coming together to put an
end to all this talk about who 2Pac is to us. To the Outlawz they are
cool wit us and always kept it real so they are family. Now for all the
non-believers who think you know the true story about Tupac Amaru Shakur
and his other family.....well its coming real soon like thieves in the
night cause I think our cousin would've wanted us to keep it thugged out
like scavengaz. The is the final statement until we take down all the
fakes and destroy the cult with killuminati once and for
all!!!!......slymmbiggumz, scavenga......HN4life!!!
REALITY CHECK #13......7/9/2012
Good morning FB fam, over the weekend I was hospitalized for congestive
heart failure and yes I survived, sissies!!!.....Seriously I am back and
blessed to return to this post. Today I am gonna drop my knowledge
about LOYALTY. We all have experienced at some point where family and
friends will become disloyal and it really hurts to the bone. How can
you say you wanna achieve a dream
when
disloyalty invades your personal space. I always listen to many stories
from artists who talk and talk so much about themselves and what issues
they have but there's one issue to me I keep hearing is someone's
disloyalty. I can only advice to artists that that you cannot do any
type of business when you have people who claim to be your rock and then
they become a HATER. They will begin to sabotage your dreams and they
lie right in face which is so disloyal and gutless. The solution to
disloyalty is to keep them folks to a distance, pray for strength and
guidance and finally, focus on you but always remember this note
DISLOYALTY can jump out of nowhere and hurt you very deeply.
REALITY CHECK #12......7/72012
Good morning FB friends and family, special thankx to all the people who
hounded my cell while I was on my way to the hospital suffering from
congestive heart failure. Do you realize in a year I have lost my
children's mother, my mother, suffered a mild stroke and I am still
mentally sane, WOW, the devil is really tryin to take me under but FUCK
HIM cause as I said it before 'm not ready to check out yet cause God
has major plans for me. Thankx God for the wake up call and it was on
point!!!!
REALITY CHECK #11......7/3/2012
The past week I've had folks in my inner circle say, Slymm you can't
stop a person from pursuing their dreams. Now here's my take on that and
I think everybody needs to think about it. You may have heard of lucky
people get discovered but do you ever think they had a story or
experience that got them even noticed. What is a dream to you? I can say
I dreamed as a 5 year old to come t
o
Hollywood to be somebody and I just took action to where I am. The
purpose for anyone to have a dream is to make it reality but at what
price you have to pay to make it happen. In Hollywood there are
thousands of actors and musicians who are either homeless or struggling
to make that dream happen but they know its gonna take certain protocol
to make it happen. Now what does it take to make a dream happen?
Personally like Nike says, "JUST DO IT!!" cause a dream isn't gonna come
to you unless you gonna show action and do it bottom line. Dreams
become reality once you achieve it at the highest level of action such
as build your resume of work experience and search for selective
connections and gain influential mentors. For my expertise if I feel you
aren't the one for the job I am telling you and if you feel I am wrong
then prove it cause it's the dream you really want.
REALITY CHECK # 10......5/22/2012
"I think people are straight up clowns to even think why our children
are fucked up when its starts in the home and the schools. So when you
see that your kids got NO respect for you then blame yourself period.
Stop acting like society is to blame for their actions when the finger
points back to you."

REALITY CHECK #9......7/24/2010
REALITY CHECK: Today I had to get this off my chest because it needs to
be addressed to the masses. The hip hop culture is under siege from the
truth of today's ills and the sins of the past. Whatever happen to the
message from rap music? Today rap music is about unrealistic events
that's not gonna happen to anyone. I see lots of barbie dolls, skinny
jean swag jackers, disrespectful sconions and wannabe
prankstas who are suppose to be the new revolution of the leaders of
our world. How can we take our children seriously when they can't even
respect themselves or authority. Rap music wasn't invented to be a
commercial success but as a fundamental tool to voice the problems or
parties within our community. So what will it take to be an asset to the
history of the hip hop culture.

REALITY CHECK #8......6/28/2012
REALITY CHECK: "How do female rappers continue to think they are the
best in game when I research them and they not on the industry's radar
or on the wire. Now if you think you have what it takes to make then
follow this advice....stop the madness and prepare yourself respectfully
and always stay humble. Some of you have alreay burn your bridges and
think the industry takes you seriously.
REALITY CHECK #7......7/2/2012
REALITY
CHECK: What is your God given talent?? are you a singer or rapper?? The
answer is up to you and thats real talk. People have said to me there
mad out talent out here but what is there God given talent as I say. I
see people who are excellent singers who wannabe rappers only because
they know the money is where it is. The main question that you ask
yourself, did God bless me with this talent
to sing or am I faking like I am a rapper when I sing his praises in
church? Now to all my legendary rappers who were blessed to give back to
the streets meaningful messages to the masses of that time. Personally
they have God given talent to talk about real issues and not looney
tunes rap bullshit. I also get these rappers who come out with this
attitude like they really gonna be the next superstar when there can
only be ONE who will be that under scrutiny and controversy. If God
bless you to sing and not be something you weren't born to do. There are
millions of people want to be in the music business but what price are
you willing to pay to be that next superstar?? I feel that you need to
start thinking to yourself what am here really here for, the fame and
fortune or the love and the craft or follow in the the footsteps of
artists who paved the way for me. For the record I was a rap fan for
nearly 2 decades to where its something I don't care for anymore because
NOBODY is talking about shit but unreality situations that they never
experienced or female rappers showing off their bodies for sexual
promotions to sell their records. Sex sells in the game but yu need the
industry to make you that star but I feel sorry for your children who
sees this as a way to come up which a disgrace to what I grew up to and
to the many rappers I either met or talked to in my time. Today's lesson
is to all artists what is your God given talent and if you wasn't
rapping then what would you be doin right now??
REALITY CHECK #6......7/1/2012
REALITY CHECK: The state of hip hop today is a pure disgraceful moment in
black music history. I remember when hip hop first came into my life
as a street party event with turntables, a mic and a great MC. The
clothes made the image of many acts and the truck load of jewelry. I
saw how rappers told interesting stories of everyday life, deep stories
that either made you cry or just think about. I
saw respectability within the game but there some acts who repped their
territory which did cause problems. Today hip hop has water down music
with no message nor substance of reality. I see males turning rap into
what the forefathers had preached about on many records of the past;
perpertating frauds!!! Females have lost sense of reality with no self
respect or flaunting their bodies for no common grounds instead of
spreading their legs to get where they want in this life, note: whore!!!
As I close this testimony for today I haven't found NO album
independent nor mainstream that I can play all day long like the music I
had back in the day so my advice to you, stop copying autotunes cause
there's only one ROGER TROUTMAN, stop sampling fucked up when DIDDY did
that already and write about REAL shit especially when it comes to the
youth of today and the future.
REALITY CHECK #5......6/30/2012
REALITY CHECK:: Fellas why is it that we have the eye candy to help
promote our stuff but females can't get us to promote them?? Now ladies
how many go through this fucked up situation? Now if you are a female
artist. executive or model and you get looked at like another woman doin
whatever it takes to make it even if it means whoring and realizing
it'll get you branding in the game and ruin your career options. So for
future reference be careful who has your career in your hands cause it
could be your last chance.

REALITY CHECK #4......6/29/2012
REALITY CHECK: Somebody said that I was too harsh on female rappers but
in reality I would like to say how am I harsh when the position of
female rappers look so extinct and disgraceful to me. Twenty years ago
female artists had balanced the industry evenly from soloist to groups.
Back in the day women would say they are every woman and displayed it
with respect and honor. Today I see no female with
mentors or connections which is the key to having a good career. I
continuously get requests to listen to their music and for the record I
have heard 80% garbage with these polarized images from photoshoots that
the photographer doesn't even fix the images properly but I am not to
say anything. I see time and time again females putting their sexy
images out there when they don't realize who gonna promote your
negativity when its a career move that could be a career disaster in the
long run. To all females who feel they need no advice or criticism from
a professional who's been taught to screen all artists and tell it to
you on a industry level then you not in the right business. For the
record I have seen many female artists since the 70s who've graced this
industry with class, grace and more professionalism than what I see
today. The music business is all about rejection or who's willing to
work to the level of professional that makes you achieve the ultimate
dream and right now the industry sees NO potential unless I am blind to
the cause......I DON'T THINK SO!!!

REALITY CHECK #3......6/27/2012
REALITY CHECK: "How many artists say the most impossible things like I can do this myself which is career suicide especially with NO contacts, mentors, connection or even have a legit team. For the record DO NOT lie to yourself if you can say that with confidence or being too cocky. The BIGGEST PROBLEMS that comes with that mentality is EGO and ARROGANCE!!!. Now if you got all the tools to survive in the game such as legit connections, contacts and mentors within the industry especially in New York or Los Angeles then you've got a winner. If you have your radio market in your hometown on locked down and have proven track records of sales of records, downloads, concert events and all other necessary paperworks. For the record YOU NEVER TALK TO ANYONE UNLESS THEY PRESENT A BUSINESS CARD which shows authenticity of that person. So if you feel you haven't done that since you claim you are the next big star......YOU'VE BEEN PIMPED LIKE A $5 HOOKER!!!!!!
REALITY CHECK #2......6/26/2012
REALITY CHECK: "Artists got the nerve to broadcast unprofessionally online and actually think the industry will give you a shot. Remember the first impression is a lasting impression that executives will ALWAYS remember. Do not think you are major unless you have an image consultation and a professional management within the industry......point blank!!"
REALITY CHECK #1......6/25/2012
REALITY CHECK: "Paying dues in the entertainment business is a necessary and frustrating process to become a bonafide name in the game. Today I see thousands of entertainment labels and companies that broadcast their business like they major player in the game when in reality I know industry folks are saying, WTF!!?? So my advice to ALL the CEOs and artists who foolin themselves about they're major players in this game just pay dues first and earn your spot in the game rightfully, respectfully and collectively."
